Founded September 1963








During the period 1970-1974 she was the top woman sprinter in T&T in the 100, 200, and 400 meters.

She became the first T&T under 20 woman to win the 200 and 400 meter titles at the Carifta Games.

Laura is the first female athlete to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Olympic Games running the 200 meters at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Germany.

Secured scholarship to study at a University in the USA and was selected twice as NCAA Honorable mention track athlete in 1984 and 1985.

Was selected outstanding athlete at the University of Idaho’s indoor invitational track meet.

Founder and head coach of the Wayne County Track and Field Club in Ohio.

Founder and head coach of the Pullman Comet Track and Field Club in Pullman, Washington.

Laura educational achievements include:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Washington State University, Washington.
Master of Arts Degree in Whole Systems Design from Antioch University. Seattle, Washington.
Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration and Programming, City University, Bellevue, Washington.

Laura is a Certified Teacher and Certified Counselor in the State of Washington, USA.

Laura’s future plans are to return to Trinidad and Tobago to make her contribution to her homeland: Trinidad and her Club Abilene.














Cecil Walker: Cecil is one of the original
administrators of Abilene Wildcats Athletic Club.
He was the Club’s first Vice-President in 1963
and became its second President from 1964 to
1972.

He received a one-year scholarship to attend the
Carnegie College of Physical Education at Leeds
University 1965-1966 where he obtained his Diploma in Physical Education.

He became Abilene’s Track Coach when Cliff Bertrand returned to the USA to continue his education and professional career.

In 1970 he was selected as the Head Track & Field Coach of
T&T’s team at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Panama.

Also in 1970, he was manager / coach of the T&T athletes at that years’ Southern Games.

Cecil was also Head Coach of Trinidad & Tobago Track team at meets in Martinque and Guadeloupe.

During 1970 and 1971 he became the first Vice-President of the National Athletic Union (NAU) of Trinidad & Tobago.






Laura Pierre: Laura became a member
of the Abilene Wildcats Club in the late 1960’s and was one of Abilene’s and T&T’s most featured female sprinters.

In 1969 she was selected as T&T’s most outstanding female athlete.
